Nikon has refined its Nikon Zf. The new Firmware 2.0 can significantly change how many fans use this camera.
In sostanza è uscito da pochissime ore il nuovo firmware di quella che è la macchina Full Frame, con approccio vintage, mirrorless, di casa Nikon.
Le implementazioni sono moltissime, comprese quelle legate alla messa a fuoco manuale, ulteriormente rifinita, anche per ottiche prive di chip, mettendo ancora più distanza tra il miglior sistema di messa a fuoco manuale al mondo e tutto il resto della concorrenza. Basterebbe questo per essere contenti. Ma no, il bello deve arrivare.

Essentially, the firmware was released just a few hours ago for Nikon’s vintage-inspired full-frame mirrorless. There are numerous updates, including further enhancements to manual focus—even for non-chipped lenses—widening the gap between what is arguably the best manual focus system in the world and the rest of the competition. That alone would be enough to make anyone happy, but the real highlight is yet to come.

FIRMWARE 2.0: UNLIMITED NIKON CLOUD
In sostanza vi regalano 20 GB di cloud, con la registrazione della fotocamera sui canali ufficiali ( almeno in Italia funziona così ). Ma per 30 giorni in realtà l’upload non ha limiti. Questo vuol dire poter caricare in cloud anche mentre ci troviamo in viaggio. Basta avere una rete Wi-Fi e avere l’account impostato tra macchina fotografica e il vostro smartphone. A quel punto potrete caricare materiale ILLIMITATO che il Cloud comunque preserverà per trenta giorni. Questo cambierà radicalmente il modo di lavorare, archiviare, condividere le foto con le persone che amiamo. Avere una copia istantaneamente, in un luogo separato, che comunque possiamo lasciare possibile a qualcun altro di scaricare in tempo reale. È davvero una bella idea. Nel Cloud inoltre sono presenti diverse simulazioni di preset che potrete caricare direttamente sulla vostra Zf e avere dei file subito pronti, seppur comunque con una inevitabile minor precisione rispetto ad un RAW lavorato.Il RAW è l’equivalente di un negativo digitale, non dimentichiamocelo mai.

Basically, by registering your camera through official channels (at least in Italy), you receive 20 GB of free cloud storage. However, for the first 30 days, there’s actually no upload limit at all. This means you can upload to the cloud even while you’re on the go—just connect to Wi-Fi and link your camera account with your smartphone. From that point on, you can upload UNLIMITED content, which will remain in the cloud for thirty days. This dramatically changes how we work, store, and share photos with the people we love. Having an instant backup in a separate location—one you can give others access to in real time—is a brilliant idea.
The cloud also offers several preset simulations that can be loaded directly onto your Zf for instantly usable files—though inevitably with less precision than a processed RAW. Let’s never forget that RAW is the digital equivalent of a film negative!

Al di là delle innovative funzioni Cloud e dei migliorati sistemi di messa a fuoco manuale, c’è anche da aggiungere un miglioramento del sistema AF, con l’introduzione di nuovi tipi di riconoscimento. Oltre a ciò viene perfezionata l’operatività della macchina consentendo così di optare per un controllo classico con le ghiera, diciamo così. “vecchia scuola” o le più moderne ghiere poste sotto pollice e indice della mano destra quando si impugna a fotocamera. Insomma un gran bell’aggiornamento gratuito di Nikon. Ora attendiamo lo stesso sistema di messa a fuoco manuale anche su Z8 e Z9.

Beyond the innovative cloud capabilities and improved manual focus system, the new firmware also upgrades the AF system by introducing new recognition modes. On top of that, Nikon has further refined the camera’s operation so you can choose either a classic, “old-school” dial-based approach or the more modern dials under your thumb and index finger on the right hand when gripping the camera. In short, it’s a great free upgrade from Nikon. Now we’re just waiting for this same manual focus system to appear on the Z8 and Z9.Evoluzioni operative.

Queste sono cose che possono fare davvero la differenza. Oramai la qualità è arrivata ad altissimi livelli. Quella di casa Nikon è davvero tra le migliori sul mercato. Quello che farà sempre più la differenza sarà l’operatività.
